About the weir clan
Please sign in to see more. This search for my ancestors began in 1986, following my Grandmother Annie Lambie's death. I was left the photo of Patrick Boylan, a couple of football medals and an African sword - a relic from her time in Africa. I remember writing to football historian Kevin McCarra about the medal, who then sent me a detailed match report from The Greenock & District Charity Cup Final of 1895 at Cappielow, where one of the treasured medals was won. Over the years I have ammassed a wealth of family info and stories and decided now was time to really research further. This has led to footballers, RAF war heroes, the founder of Glasgow University Union, Highland McGregors, Irish Boylans and English Ryans all merging into our Clan Weir. The search continues daily and has led us to far flung places such as The USA, Nigeria, South Africa, Mexico, Holland, Jamaica, Italy and Honduras.
Long - forgotten graves and tales from various crypts have told their own story and every search leaves new questions unanswered. The greatest legacy I can leave behind when I join them is this website ! Enjoy !
